Broadwater Marine Project - News
11 April 2014 – Broadwater Marine Project complete
On 13 February 2014 the Deputy Premier, Hon Jeff Seeney MP, announced that the assessment of private sector proposals submitted as part of the Request for Detailed Proposals process was complete. Mr Seeney advised that the detailed proposal submitted by ASF Consortium (ASF) had demonstrated a cruise ship terminal was a possibility, subject to a number of conditions. If ASF wishes to pursure its proposal, it must now conduct further detailed investigations and undertake community consultation.
Futhermore, on 1 April 2014 Mr Seeney announced that ASF Consortium has submitted an Expression of Interest for the Queensland government’s Integrated Resort Developments process to obtain an Integrated Resort Development casino licence in respect of ASF’s proposal at the Broadwater.

13 March 2014 – Foundation documentation now public
A suite of foundation documents was provided to all prospective proponents during the RFDP process. These documents include the Market Approach (EOI and RFDP) and the RFDP Site Context Report. The Site Context Report summarises a diverse range of relevant technical information which was provided to proponents in an electronic 'data room'. These documents may be viewed under Project Background.
Within the Site Context Report, documents highlighted with a 'strike out' are not available on this Broadwater Marine Project website for the following reasons:
- the files contain modelling or GIS data which requires specialist software capability to open or read, but may be requested
- the files contain baseline technical data which would require professional analysis (e.g traffic counts), but may be requested
- the files contain commercial in confidence information
Please note for some modelling or GIS data there may be licence agreements and fees associated with the provision of this information.
Please contact Mr Richard Clarke, on +61 7 5581 7749, should you wish to request information that is not available through the Broadwater Marine Project website.
The proposed Broadwater Marine Project aims to stimulate growth, create employment opportunities and encourage sound development to produce positive economic benefits for the city.
